Visiting with AJ and Archie

We attempted to go to the zoo, which turned out to be a complete bust. Haley wanted to walk the whole time, which would have been fine if only she'd walked in the right direction and steered clear of other zoo goers. Oh well, she had her own agenda and it did not involve looking at animals! After too many tantrums to count, we left the zoo. We salved our day by going to Andy and Amber's to hang with AJ and new baby, Archie. We had so much fun and Haley is still talking about AJ.

The Zoo--It started off great....

This was about the time we decided to leave...

Cool Cats

Haley has started to enjoy wearing her shades (or "eyes" as she likes to call them).

New Ride

Check out Haley's new ride. We weren't sure how she was going to like it considering she hates being confined, but she did GREAT. Daddy pulled her on the back of his bike while I rode along side of them on my bike. She loved waving at me. : )

If any of you are looking for one of these trailers, they're on sale right now at Target for cheaper than we've seen them anywhere (even on Craiglist).

I wish they made these for adults!

Libertyville Days Parade

Haley was beyond excited when she woke up from her morning nap to find this amazing parade right out our front door. I wasn't sure how she'd react seeing as I'd woken her, which usually doesn't go well, but she was pumped once she heard the marching band and saw all the big balloons floating down the street. She instantly started clapping her hands and stomping her feet. Jill, Jay and Liz joined us with their boys and we had a little parade party. It was so much fun to relive the magic through their eyes.

Her first glimpse...

Yep, she likes it....

She even got to ride on a magic carpet...

Her first sucker! She wouldn't stop saying, "mmmmm"....

Joseph, Liam and Grady enjoying the parade. Joseph loved waving his flag!

Her First Masterpiece

We decided to bust out the crayons and give Haley her first go at coloring. She did great! I was so impressed by how carefully she would position the crayons between her tiny little fingers. Her favorite color...grey. I kept trying to throw it back into the mix and get her to use a color that (I thought) was more fun, but she'd pick it out of the pile every time. Already has a mind of her own.

Here she is a few days later. She's a pro now. : )
