Shopper

Here she is with her new shopping cart.

Birthday Party

Haley had all her little friends and cousins over for a birthday celebration. We had a yummy ice cream sundae bar and some cupcakes that mommy made to look like ice cream cones. Haley finished off the night with a special dinner "date" with her boyfriend, Jonah.

Haley's Big Day

Daddy took the day off for Haley's Birthday and we spent the day at Kohl's Children's Museum in Glenview. First of all, for those of you who haven't been, this place is AWESOME! I can't wait to go back when Haley is able to enjoy it a little more. It was a wonderful way to keep her distracted of the first two molars she's got coming in. I didn't realize the source of her foul mood until the end of the day when I caught a peek at the 2 big holes in her gums. Poor thing! Despite her pain, she was a trooper, humoring mommy and daddy as we dragged her around all day making a big fuss over our birthday girl. As you can see by the pics, we could barely get her to crack a smile, but at least she wasn't crying.

We watched a baby chick try to break out of its egg in the hatchery.
The mock supermarket was by far her favorite part of the day. After seeing how much she enjoyed it, we bought her her own little pink shopping cart filled with fake food. Like mother, like daughter!

Here she is working the register. The scanner even beeped when you waved the food over it.
Making a pizza...

How cute does she look in her little veterinarian's jacket?

She decided she didn't like the stethoscope, so we had the dog listen to her heartbeat, then we fixed his leg.

I've got my new shoes on...

We took Haley to get her first pair of "real" shoes today. She was such a big girl in the shoe store waiting patiently to get measured. We ended up with these cute little white shoes, which are not nearly as cute or cool as what we wanted, but she seems to like them and that's all that matters. She was so proud to have them on, marching around the house, stomping her little feet on the floor. Ahhh, everyday it's something new. She's growing so fast!

Fun Filled Weekend

We had a great weekend hanging out with friends and enjoying the (sort of) nice weather. Saturday Pete and Caryn came over and spent the night with their son, Parker, who's 2 1/2. Haley was so mesmerized by Parker that we didn't have to entertain her at all...which was a really nice break! Right after they left on Sunday, Andy and Amber stopped over with AJ. They brought Holiday, too, so even Cheddar got to have a friend over! Sunday afternoon we decided to go to Independence Grove and let Haley play in the park. Sure was a lot different than last year when we'd go there and just push her around the lake in the stroller. This was really our first experience being outside since she's started walking. She absolutely loved it, to say the least. I think I'd love it a lot more if she was wearing a helmet and knee pads! It's a whole new world when there's sharp rocks and slippery ice to worry about. Adam and I just let her go, doing our best to let her enjoy herself. She's such a big girl now, I really can't believe it. I forgot to take pictures of Haley playing with Parker and AJ, but here are some pics of our trip to the park.

Curly Q

Can you believe these curls??? No one ever sees them since they're gone by the time she wakes up. I should start giving her a bath in the morning so she can show them off. Although, it doesn't take long before they turn in to a frizzy afro. The other night Adam said she looked like Art Garfunkel (from Simon and Garfunkel)...I'm still laughing about that!
